Hurts...Randy said on Sunday that if we live long enough, life will deal us some struggles, some hurts. This is so true. We can probably all remember a time in our lives when we were really hurt either by someone or something...maybe it was an intentional hurt or maybe not. It hurt none the less. We are left with the reality of trying to deal with the pain and aftermath. We need HOPE to get through those times when the hurt is almost too much to bare. In Hosea 2:15, God says "I will...transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope..." As I listen to people share about their hurts and their hope, I realize just how true this verse really is. God uses our hurts and struggles and turns them into a Gateway of Hope which can then be used to help others deal with their own hurts. As we learn in Celebrate Recovery through the 8 Recovery Principles, "God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs." and "God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:3-4) Jesus is telling you and me that this world will deal us hurts, it's a reality, but He will see us through! The band sang Addison Road's single, Hope Now. Watch and Listen...
